My Published Work

All the President's Men

First Edition (1974), 25th Anniversary issue (1999)

Co-authored with Carl Bernstein, this is our record of the Watergate break-in and the ensuing scandal for The Washington Post. The book chronicles our investigative reporting from my initial report on the Watergate break-in through the resignations of H. R. Haldeman and John Ehrlichman, and the revelation of the Nixon tapes by Alexander Butterfield in 1973. It relates the events behind the major stories the duo wrote for the Post, naming some sources who had previously refused to be identified for their initial articles, notably Hugh Sloan. It also gives detailed accounts of Woodward's secret meetings with his source Deep Throat whose identity was kept hidden for over 30 years.

The Final Days

(1976)

The Final Days concerns itself with the final months of the Richard Nixon presidency. As stated in the book's foreword, all the information and scenarios depicted were taken from interviews with 394 people who were involved. All that was stated in these interviews was considered on the record but the identity of the sources remained confidential. Every detail was thoroughly checked and any information that could not be confirmed by two separate accounts was left out of the book.

Wired

(1984)

This book enquires into the death by drug abuse of John Belushi. In his search for what went wrong in the comedian's life, the author uncovers the seedier side of the American star system. A film based on the book has been made. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
